Wool prices have further surged this week in Australia, with the benchmark indicator reaching a new record level at 1,500 Aussie cents per kilo clean.
Demand has been boosted by rising concerns about a possible lack of supply whereas offer has been at a relatively low level above 40,000 bales.
The EMI has risen 3.52% in A$ terms, being up 34 cents or 3.09% in US dollar terms and 36 cents or 3.39% in euro terms.
Medium micron categories have this time as sharply risen as fine micron categories.
Over the last 12 months, 17 micron prices have surged 40.2% in A$ terms whereas 21 microns have only gained 17.7% and 25 microns have not moved.
