U.S. Apparel Imports: Latest and Long-Term Trends (Monthly Report)

6 June 2017 - US apparel imports have more sharply increased in April, as a clear sign they are rebounding this year, mostly due to a sharp fall of unit prices in China and Vietnam. Both origins are once again taking advantage of the long-term shift from cotton to man-made fiber apparel, as reflected by our monthly review covering US apparel import data, with historical trends being analyzed over the 2000-2017 period including cotton vs man-made fiber apparel, and China vs Rest of World (RoW) and vs Vietnam.
