16 January 2017 - Cotton prices could now decline over a rise of production in Texas and Xinjiang, resulting in a lower reduction in stocks than earlier expected, as reflected by the January update of USDA data. The weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". Domestic cotton prices in China, India and Pakistan are also reviewed through a large number of tables and charts. All data are available for download.
6 February 2017 - Polyester chain prices were being raised at the end of last week, as producers were returning from Chinese new year holidays. Market prices will be again supported by relatively tight supply in the coming period in Asia, whereas demand for polyester fibers will remain strong. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. 6 November 2015 - US imports have more sharply risen in the third quarter in volume terms, with China again resisting, and Vietnam and Bangladesh further emerging. Unit prices have continued slightly declining. 3 May 2016 - Yarn prices have remained stable in the last week in China, in line with a stability of fiber prices. Cotton yarn imports have continued tumbling in March, with Vietnam now leading for the first time the market to the detriment of India and Pakistan. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). 16 March 2016 - Yarn prices are staying very firm in India where cotton prices have begun decreasing, however. Demand for cotton yarns is weak from domestic and foreign markets. Our comprehensive review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic markets in Ludhiana (Punjab) and Indore (Madhya Pradesh), with a wide range of products and counts, including cotton yarns (carded and combed), polyester spun, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose and polyester-acrylic.
