11 December 2017 - Cotton prices have very slightly risen in the past week in New York, whereas also stabilizing on the Indian domestic market. US specs have eventually taken long positions, as the cotton season could be very different from what was initially expected. 27 November 2017 - Cotton futures have surged above their recent price range in the last week in New York, over a continuous jump in export sales. India's production could be much smaller than expected, whereas strong demand is reported from Pakistan, Turkey, Bangladesh and Vietnam, meaning cotton prices could stay firm in the coming period. 20 November 2017 - Cotton prices have further risen in the last week on the international market, mostly due to surging demand from Pakistan where domestic prices have eventually declined as a result of a rebound of cotton imports. The jump of polyester prices in China may also have supported demand for cotton in the past weeks. 13 November 2017 - Cotton prices have continued rebounding in the last week in Pakistan, where the market indicator has gained 12% since early September. Cotton imports could soar and support prices in different countries, including in India where prices are dropping over a record crop this season.
