4 February 2019 - The cotton market is now experiencing "the calm before the storm". Ongoing trade negotiations between Beijing and Washington could result in a sharp rebound in Chinese demand for US cotton, therefore boosting prices by early March. Global market fundamentals are also increasingly bullish, after the ICAC has lowered ending stocks and key stocks-to-use ratio. Demand is already strong from Pakistan whereas still very firm from Bangladesh. Demand from China would surge after a successful end of current trade negotiations, whereas large sales would be reported to Vietnam and Pakistan.
