7 December 2018 - Chinese shipments have plunged this year on EU's clothing import market, with rival countries taking advantage of this historical decline. Bangladesh is the more obvious winner, now ranking first in many HS 4-digit categories, but other origins are also benefiting from the shift our of China, mostly due to their duty-free access to the European Union. Morocco and Tunisia have taken advantage of their proximity, whereas Turkey is seizing opportunities offered by free access, proximity and a sharply lower currency. Unit prices have increased everywhere in dollar terms, declining in euro terms with however sharp differences depending on product categories and origins. 6 December 2017 - Unit prices of European clothing imports have less risen in dollar terms in the third quarter from a few origins, including Bangladesh, partly due to currency variations. As a result, shipments have rebounded to the European Union whereas China's exports were slowing down by contrast. As usual, results are very different, depending on product categories and origins.
