11 November 2016 - Man-made fiber apparel imports have begun declining in the third quarter of 2016 in volume terms, for the first time in many years. Cotton apparel imports have more sharply decreased, confirming the long-term shift from cotton to cheaper polyester fibers, and as reflected by our detailed analysis of US apparel imports per category. 23 August 2016 - US imports of cotton apparel have continued declining in the second quarter of 2016 whereas shipments of man-made fiber products were again rising. Results have been however different depending on categories, with the shift out of cotton being much slower for certain products, like trousers, as reflected by our detailed analysis of US apparel imports per category. US Apparel Imports in 1st Quarter 2016: Categories (Statistical Report)

12 May 2016 - US imports of cotton apparel have declined in the first quarter after rising for three consecutive quarters, whereas imports of man-made fiber apparel have continued increasing, although at a lower pace than in the last two years, as reflected by our detailed analysis of US apparel imports for every category of products.
