U.S. Apparel Import Prices in 2017: China vs. India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Mexico and Honduras

1 March 2018 - China has again been able to lower its unit prices in full last year and to relatively preserve its share of the US apparel import market, as a result. Unit values of other origins have also dropped, including from Bangladesh or Cambodia with results widely different depending on product categories, as usual. Our series of statistical tables offer a comprehensive comparison of unit values per origin and product category in 2016 and 2017. The report also includes a detailed comparison of Chinese price trends vs other origins, through a series of indexes. 10 January 2018 - Unit prices of US apparel imports are now more clearly rising, which could negatively affect US demand in the coming months. Unit values of Chinese shipments are no more dropping whereas the average price of Vietnamese products has surged in November without depressing the business so far.
