Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)

20 May 2019 - Polyester chain prices have begun falling across the board in the last week in Asia, as PTA and PSF prices were eventually plunging on spot markets. Although margins have remained at high levels, operating rates could be lowered at PTA and polyester plants, as demand has sharply declined from downward textile producers expecting lower prices in the coming period. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Asian Contract Prices (ACPs) are also available for the PX, PTA and MEG markets in Asia, with 5-year charts and downloadable historical data. Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)

20 May 2019 - Cotton prices have continued sharply falling in the last week, over a new deterioration of the China-US relationship. Even in China, domestic cotton prices are sharply falling. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". Domestic cotton prices in China, India and Pakistan are also reviewed through a large number of tables and charts. All data are available for download. Textile Fiber Price Comparison (Monthly Report)

16 May 2019 - Textile fiber prices have begun tumbling across the board on the international market and on domestic markets in Asia after US President Trump has decided raising import tariffs on a series of Chinese products. An already depressed textile market was actually betting on a sharp increase of China's buying of US cotton. The weakness of demand for textiles this year in China is now pushing down all fiber prices to lower levels, acrylic excepted. Our tables and charts offer a 3-month and 12-month price comparison of most used textile fibers, including cotton, polyester, viscose, wool, acrylic and nylon, all being available for download on a weekly basis through our historical csv file.
