U.S. Apparel Imports: Latest and Long-Term Trends (Monthly Report)

11 February 2019 - Threats of additional tariffs have actually boosted China's share of the US apparel market. US apparel imports have declined in November after sharply rising in October, in anticipation of US additional tariffs. Chinese shipments have resisted any decline in November by contrast with a fall from other countries including Vietnam, as buyers of Chinese products have preferred anticipating a 25% increase of import tariffs.
